Three strays are hiding in this wall

Eight claw marks. Forty-eight tiles. Scratch a tile and it tells you how many rings away the nearest hidden stray sits — so this is a deduction puzzle, not a coin flip. Find all three and the free claim opens.

HOW THE WALL WORKS

  1. You get 8 claw marks. Each one scratches one tile.
  2. Hit a stray and it comes out of the wall. Three of them are buried.
  3. Miss, and the tile prints a number: how many rings away the nearest still-buried stray is. 1 means one of the 8 tiles touching it.
  4. A · means five or more rings away — cold.
  5. Find all three inside 8 claws and the free claim unlocks.
A perfect deducer wins about 32% of walls — we measured it over all 17,296 possible layouts before shipping. Fresh walls are free and unlimited, so take another if this one goes cold.

One free, ninety-nine paid, hundred max

The free cat is earned at the wall. Paid cats are not — buying never requires scratching a single tile.

TIERS

FREE ×1
One per wallet, no cost beyond gas. Unlocked by clearing the wall. The chain enforces the one-per-address limit, not the game. The free window closes for good once 6,500 cats are out — after that every cat is 0.0001 ETH, wall cleared or not.
0.0001 ETH each, up to 99 on top of your free one. No scratching needed — go straight to buying if you want.

Straight answer: the wall decides what this page offers you, and nothing more. Any browser game can be bypassed by calling the contract directly, so it would be dishonest to call the wall the gate. The real limit is claimedFree(address) on-chain: one free cat per address, no exceptions, and a bypasser gains nothing they weren't already owed.

FAQ

Straight answers

Does the scratch wall actually control my free mint?
It controls what this page offers you, and nothing more. Any browser game can be bypassed by calling the contract directly, so it would be dishonest to tell you the wall is the gate. The real limit is claimedFree(address) in the contract: one free cat per address, checked on-chain, no exceptions.
Do I have to play the game to buy one?
No. Paid cats skip the wall entirely. The wall gates the free cat only — every extra step on a paid mint is friction we don't want.
How many can I mint?
100 per wallet, lifetime. That is 1 free plus up to 99 paid at 0.0001 ETH each. The free one counts toward the 100.
When does the free cat stop being free?
At 6,500 minted. The free claim lives inside a supply window, not a token range: while fewer than 6,500 cats exist, one address gets one free. The moment the 6,500th cat lands the window shuts permanently, and cats 6,501 through 7,777 cost 0.0001 ETH each for everyone — cleared wall or not. It is a constant in the contract, so nobody can reopen it.
What exactly does the mint charge me?
The page never does its own maths. It asks the contract quoteMint(you, qty) and sends back that exact number. Payment must match to the wei, so a wallet still holding its free cat pays for qty − 1: ask for 3 and you pay 0.0002 ETH, not 0.0003.
How hard is the wall, exactly?
Measured, not guessed. Over all 17,296 possible layouts, a perfect Bayesian deducer clears 8 claws about 32% of the time — roughly 3 walls per unlock. A human plays worse than perfect, so treat 32% as the ceiling. Blind clicking with no use of the readings wins 0.32% of the time, which is why the numbers on the tiles matter.
What do the numbers on scratched tiles mean?
Chebyshev ring distance to the nearest still-buried stray. A 1 means one of the eight tiles touching it. A · means five or more rings away. Once a stray is out, readings retarget to what is still hidden.
Is the art AI-generated?
No. Every cat is drawn by a hand-authored sprite engine — explicit cell coordinates, a 21-role palette, ten trait axes — then composed over hand-built scenes. Palette overlap with our earlier collections is zero RGB values, verified numerically rather than by eye.
Where does my mint fee go?
Proceeds sit in the contract until the owner calls withdraw(). Nothing is auto-forwarded anywhere.
